Contradicting information regarding thinning nose skin? Is it possible to thin the skin on your nose using CO2 lasers?

How is it that thousands of doctors say you can not thin the skin on your nose yet you can get lasers such as CO2 that does exactly this. Why are so many Doctors uneducated regarding this subject?
